Principal beats up 7-year-old student, breaks his arm
Jammu: A 7-year-old student was brutally beaten by stick, resulting in multiple fractures, and then locked up for three hours by his principal near Jammu on Friday. The family of the victim has lodged a complaint against the principal.

The parents of the victim, who studies at the Yuva Shakti Day Boarding School, 18 km from Jammu, alleged that the principal tried to hush up the matter by offering them money, and even threatened to use his political connections against them.

The victim, who is still in a state of shock, relived the horrors while speaking to NDTV. He said, "I apologised and said I will not do it again. But he kept beating me with a stick, and then kicked me." He said, after beating him up, the principal locked him in a room for three hours. Vasu's medical examination has revealed multiple fractures in his arm. The doctors have adviced him three months complete bed rest.

The victim's family still cannot believe the torment he had to go through. His grandfather R D Sharma said, "We have never beaten our child. Our eyes turn moist when we see his condition. We can't see him suffering so much pain."

The accused principal is still at large two days after the complaint was filed. Police say he is still absconding.

Admitting that the principal has gone hiding after the incident, Head Constable Jaswant Singh said, "We have searched the school as well as his house, but he was not found in any of these places."
