What is cyclone Phyan?

What is cyclone Phyan?
New Delhi:
The word Phyan has originated in Myanmar and was derived from Burmese word Phyan, which means a cherry fallen from a tree.  It seems to be a vicious fruit from the weather God.

The trend of naming cyclones started in Australia where cyclones were named after corrupt politicians in the 19th century.

The world meteorological bodies have already named potential cyclones till the end of this year.  Eight north Indian Ocean countries have jointly prepared a list of 64 names for cyclones to hit the world in future.

Whenever a cyclone hits a region, the next available name is picked up from the list for easy identification which facilitates rescue operations.

None of the names are repeated.  Some of the next few names available for naming cyclones are Ward, Laila and Bandu.
