The first picture of Dr Umar Mohammad, suspected to be the suicide bomber in Delhi blast case, has emerged. Umar owned the white Hyundai i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort on Monday evening killing at least nine people and injuring 20 others. NDTV has accessed the first picture of the alleged suicide bomber.
Born in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on 24 February 1989, Umar was employed as a doctor at the Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad. He was the close aide of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather and Dr Mujammil Shakil, the two doctors who were arrested on Monday in the “white collar” terror module that was busted by the police teams of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana.
Umar escaped from Faridabad after he learnt that the investigators have arrested two key members of the module and seized 2,900 kg of suspected explosives over the past few days. He reportedly panicked and triggered the blast.
"Umar Mohammad and his associates used Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil (ANFO) to carry out the attack. They placed a detonator in the car and carried out the terror attack in a crowded area near Red Fort," sources said.
How Delhi Blast Was Executed
CCTV video and images show the white Hyundai i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort entering Delhi from the Badarpur border. It came to Old Delhi via the Outer Ring Road. The vehicle - with the number plate HR 26CE7674 - was parked in the parking lot near the fort for over three hours, entering at 3:19 pm and leaving around 6:30 pm, according to sources. The suspected suicide bomber did not leave the car for even a minute.
Initial investigation indicates that the car used in the attack changed hands multiple times. According to the sources, the car was sold by Salman to Devender in March 2025. Subsequently, it exchanged hands from Devender to Aamir on October 29 and then to Tariq and Umar.
Both Aamir and Tariq are being questioned by the Delhi Police team.
In one of the pictures, Aamir is seen holding the car key, probably taken after he purchased the car from Devender.

Delhi Blast: More Doctors In Question
Several doctors have been arrested from Faridabad over the past few days and are accused of planning a terror attack. This includes Adeel Ahmad Rather, a doctor at Anantnag's Government Medical College (GMC). Adeel Rather was arrested from a hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur on November 6 after CCTV footage showed him putting up posters praising the Jaish-e-Mohammed group in Srinagar.
Earlier this week, police raided the GMC Anantnag and found an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from Adil's locker. He was charged under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Investigation led to the discovery of 2,900 kg of explosives, and arms in Faridabad - which Adil reportedly stored with another doctor, identified as Muzammil Shakeel - who was also arrested on November 10.
Dr Shaheen Shahid, a woman doctor was arrested in the same module as Dr Shakeel. A rifle and live cartridges were recovered from her car.
Dr Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed was arrested by the Gujarat ATS for allegedly plotting the Ricin terror attack. He allegedly conducted recce of the RSS office in Lucknow and crowded markets.
