Uddhav Thackeray discharged from Lilavati Hospital
Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray has been discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital today after he underwent a successful angioplasty on Friday. But his younger cousin Raj Thackeray was not there to take him home.

Uddhav, 52, drove to the Thackeray family home 'Matoshree' in suburban Bandra in the afternoon after being discharged from the hospital, a Shiv Sena spokesperson told PTI.

The Shiv Sena executive president underwent angioplasty to remove coronary blockages.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief and Uddhav's estranged cousin Raj was at the hospital with him throughout the procedure. The last few days have seen the two estranged cousins coming together, fuelling speculation about a possible political reconciliation. Raj, however, insisted that the new closeness is a "personal matter".

In 2006, Raj quit the Shiv Sena to form his own party, the MNS. The split in the Thackeray family meant that the Shiv Sena's vote base split, allowing the Congress and NCP coalition to rule Maharashtra unhindered.
