Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that the "sudden demise" of Prateek Yadav was "extremely heartbreaking" as he extended his condolences to the family.
Prateek, 38, was the younger son of Samajwadi Party founder the late Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of party president Akhilesh Yadav. He died early on Wednesday morning at the civil hospital, where he was rushed to around 6 am.
"The sudden demise of Shri Prateek Yadav Ji, son of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, 'Padma Vibhushan', the late Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji, and husband of Smt Aparna Yadav Ji, Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, is extremely heartbreaking. Humble tribute," Adityanath posted on X.

Adityanath later reached Aparna's residence to extend condolences to the family. He met Aparna, her two daughters and family members and paid his tributes.

Medical Officer Went To His House After Driver Came Seeking Help: Civil Hospital on Prateek Yadav's death
Lucknow Civil Hospital's Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr Devesh Chandra Pandey, on Wednesday said that a medical officer was sent to the residence of Prateek Yadav, son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, after his driver came to the hospital seeking urgent medical attention for him.
Speaking to IANS, Dr Pandey confirmed that Yadav was brought dead to the hospital and that his body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to identify the cause of death.
Prateek Yadav, who passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday morning at the age of 38, was the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav and step-brother of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav.
Describing the sequence of events, the Chief Medical Superintendent said: "A medical officer was sent to Yadav's residence after his driver or somebody from his household had arrived at the hospital at 5.30 a.m. seeking urgent medical assistance."
"The medical officer immediately shifted Yadav to the hospital," he said.

Prateek Yadav Death News: BJP, Samajwadi Party Cancel Political Programmes In UP After Prateek Yadav's Death
The BJP and the Samajwadi Party on Wednesday cancelled their political programmes in Uttar Pradesh following the sudden death of Prateek Yadav, younger son of late SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and halfbrother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
The BJP said district-level protests planned by women workers across the state on Wednesday have been postponed following Prateek Yadav's demise.
According to a statement issued by the party, Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary directed that the programmes be deferred in view of the untimely death of Prateek Yadav, husband of BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission vice-chairperson Aparna Yadav.
The Samajwadi Party has also cancelled its scheduled political engagements for the day.
Party sources said programmes involving Akhilesh Yadav, his wife and party MP Dimple Yadav, senior SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav and other office-bearers were called off following the bereavement in the Yadav family.

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday mourned the untimely demise of his step-brother Prateek Yadav, calling him a "very good body" who was always mindful about his health and fitness.
The SP chief arrived at the Civil Hospital in Lucknow, where the mortal remains of Prateek Yadav have been kept for the post-mortem procedure.

Prateek Yadav Death News: 4-Member Team To Perform Post-Mortem
The Chief Medical Officer of the Lucknow civil hospital has constituted a four-member team of doctors to conduct the post-mortem of Prateek Yadav, son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav. The procedure is expected to start at around 10:00 am.
This team will perform the post-mortem procedure to ascertain the cause of death, which is expected to take half an hour.
Additionally, a panel of doctors at the King George Medical University (KGMU) will also perform a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
KGMU has also formed a two-member team comprising specialist-level doctors -- Dr Mausami and Dr Shivli. They have been assigned specifically to address any doubts or concerns that may arise during the initial stages of the examination.
