Move Over Fear Of Coffee Bubbles: These Weird Food Phobias Will Amaze You

Highlights

  1. Food phobias actually exist
  2. Some people are afraid of consuming cheese
  3. Many others are scared of having hot food items
When experts at the University of Kent in Britain studied close 600 participants, half of them with trypophobia - it was concluded that fear of circular patterns and objects might actually be a thing of this world. Trypophobics are those who get restless on seeing round figures that can range from seed pods to even coffee bubbles. If people could actually get uneasy by looking at coffee bubbles or other circular food items, we wondered if there were other phobias associated purely to the realm of food that we might have never heard of. This is what came our way, take a look!

Turophobia

Love cheese? We all do, right? Wrong! Some people are actually afraid of cheese. People with turophobia may just feel anxious of consuming cheese thinking it might have gone bad.

Brumotactillophobia

Some people take serious offence if multiple things on their plate happen to touch each other. While some fear mixing flavours, others may get seriously disturbed. Some believe brumotactillophobia to be a mild form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Lachanophobia

Do you happen to cringe at the sight of veggies? That could just be a serious dislike towards vegetables. Others might find it extremely terrifying to gulp down their share of greens. People with lachanophobia fear swallowing some bug along with the vegetables or simply dread choking on seeds.

Thermophobia

There are people who would just not entertain anything hot! Goodbye soul-soothing soups and delightful coffees!

Frigophobia

Just the opposite of thermophobia, there are people who fear consuming anything cold, from ice creams, colas to even delicious cocktails and summer-friendly drinks.

And we thought fear of coffee bubbles was weird!
