Former Bigg Boss contestant Mandana Karimi filed a domestic violence case against her husband Gaurav Gupta at Andheri magistrate court on Monday, reports mid-day. Iranian model Mandana Karimi became a household name after she appeared in the ninth season of the controversial reality show Bigg Boss, which was hosted by superstar Salman Khan. Mandana married Gaurav, a Mumbai-based businessman, in January and she alleged that her in-laws threw her out of her 'matrimonial house seven weeks ago" and added: "Gaurav has cut me off," reports mid-day. In her petition, Mandana has claimed Rs 10 lakh as monthly maintenance in addition to a compensation of Rs 2 crore "for the trauma and agony caused, and loss of career and business," reports mid-day.
Mandana, who has starred in films like Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 and Main Aur Charles, alleged that her husband and his family stopped her from working in films after marriage as they thought the profession was "incompatible with his family's status in the society," reports mid-day. She also claimed that Gaurav and his family forced her to change her religion.
"I was thrown out of my matrimonial house seven weeks ago. I made desperate attempts to reconcile with them, but my in-laws didn't allow me back. Gaurav has cut me off," Mandana Karimi told mid-day. Gaurav Gupta was unavailable for comment, stated the mid-day report.
Mandana Karimi starred in several television commercials with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan before she appeared in films starting with a cameo in Ranbir's Roy (2015). Mandana was last seen in Indo-Sino film Xuanzang.
