Budget 2014: Finance Minister's 'Rs 100-crore' Club Goes Viral
New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's budget today launched a new "100 crore club" that went viral on social media.

As many as 29 schemes have been allotted exactly Rs 100 crore by the new government.

Speaking to NDTV, Mr Jaitley justified the schemes. "These schemes are directional steps and part of the roadmap. If you need more, ask us for more and we will come out with revised estimates in November," he said.

As his "Rs 100 crore schemes" became a talking point on twitter, there were comparisons to Bollywood blockbusters that consider 100-crore earnings at the box office a measure of spectacular success.

"Word of the day: Rs 100 crore," tweeted Ankur Mishra.

Another tweet mocked the Finance Minister putting these words in his mouth: "And finally, I allocate 100 crores to manage all these countless 100 crore projects"
