Patna:

Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday evening recommended the dismissal of two of his ministers, considered close to former chief minister Nitish Kumar, to Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.

Highly-placed sources said Mr Manjhi sent recommendation to dismiss two ministers - Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lallan and PK Shahi - to the Governor, saying their activities were not in the best interest of the government.

Mr Lallan and Mr Shahi are close confidante of Nitish Kumar and the Manjhi camp believes they have been on the forefront to oust Mr Manjhi from the chief minister's post.

Meanwhile, according to sources, Janata Dal United President Sharad Yadav has prepared a letter for the Governor requesting him not to entertain the plea of Mr Manjhi who is in "minority" now.

The letter is ready and could be faxed to the Governor anytime, they said.

Mr Lallan is the minister for Road Construction department and Mr Shahi is Forest Minister of the state.

These two ministers had recently protested transfer of IAS officers by Mr Manjhi in alleged violation of laid down rules of transfer.
