Bhutan's PM, Bangladesh Speaker Arrive for Narendra Modi's Swearing-In

New Delhi: The Prime Minister of Bhutan Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury arrived in Delhi today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi which will take place tommorow.

This is the first time that the heads of the state and government of South Asian Association of Regional Corporations (SAARC) nations have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of an Indian Prime Minister.

Bangladesh will be represented by Mr Chaudhury as Premier Sheikh Hasina would be travelling to Japan at the time of the swearing-in ceremony.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdulla
Yameen Abdul Gayoom will be among the foreign dignitaries who will be attending the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
