- Zooey- who was married to Ben for two years - filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior County Court on December 27, 2011, citing "irreconcilable differences" as her reason behind the split.
- Just months prior to the announcement, Zooey - who is now dating screenwriter Jamie Linden, said she enjoyed being married because it "solidified" the couple's commitment to each other.
- She explained: "You can't expect to make no effort. You still have to make the effort and be kind and understanding. It sort of just solidifies your commitment."
- Meanwhile, Ben has previously admitted he was "awestruck" that Zooey even agreed to speak to him in the first place because she was so "beautiful".
- He revealed: "I'd seen her movies and obviously I thought she was very beautiful. (When we were introduced) I was awestruck that she was even talking to me!"
