It has been 28 years since Sushmita Sen made the nation proud by winning the Miss Universe title. The pageant win in 1994 catapulted Sushmita into overnight stardom around the globe and since then there has been no looking back. Nearly three decades later, the actress' daughter Renee Sen hosted an intimate get-together to celebrate the milestone. The celebration saw Sushmita's family and close friends in attendance. Among those present at the event was Sushmita Sen's ex-boyfriend, model Rohman Shawl. The couple split in December last year and have continued to remain close friends.
Sharing a picture from the party and thanking her daughter for the special evening, Sushmita Sen said, “Thank you, shona Renee Sen, for this wonderful surprise and the memorable evening. In the company of love, laughter, family and friends…it couldn't have been better!” tagging Rohman Shawl, Sushmita's sister-in-law Charu Asopa Sen and dancer-choreographer Pritam Shikhare, among others.
In the image, Sushmita Sen is laughing with her loved ones around her. Responding to the image, Rohman Shawl wrote, “The most infectious laughter in the universe,” with a heart emoji.
Renee Sen replied to the post saying, “I love you Maa. Thank you for being YOU.”
Celebrity life coach Vrindda Bhatt who was also at the celebration said, “Was truly a memorable evening. The journey, the crown, the learnings, the love, the growth. Will be cherished forever. Love you!”
Sushmita Sen was also seen bonding with her niece – Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa Sen's daughter – at the celebration. Sharing a bunch of pictures of the munchkin, Sushmita wrote, “Ziana Sen comes home to wish her "Sexy" a happy 28 years of Miss Universe,” along with the hashtags, “Bua ki jaan” and “VIP mehamaan.”
Addressing her brother and sister-in-law, she said, “I promise you this romance has only just begun, Charu Asopa Sen and Rajeev Sen.”
Addressing her fans, Sushmita Sen wrote, “Thank you all for the warmest, most loving wishes. I celebrated the day with family, friends and all of you. Thank you for the flowers, the letters, the chocolates, the posts. 28 years and the love still overwhelms.”

Meanwhile, Sushmita Sen and Rohman Shawl have been spotted together several times after their breakup. Rohman also shares a close bond with Sushmita's daughters Renee and Alisah.
When Sushmita Sen announced their breakup, she stressed that the friendship would always remain. In December 2021, Sushmita Sen shared a selfie with Rohman and said, “We began as friends, we remain friends! The relationship was long over... The love remains,” along with the hashtags, "no more speculations, live and let live, cherished memories, gratitude, love and friendship."
Rohman Shawl and Sushmita Sen reportedly started dating in 2018. On the work front, the actress was last seen in the web series Aarya 2.
