Navya Naveli Nanda's love for reading is evident from her social media posts. And this should come as no surprise given her family's close association with art and literature. While her great grandfather Harivansh Rai Bachchan is one of the most prolific poets the country has ever had, her mother Shweta Bachchan is also an author. On Tuesday, Navya Nanda – who is the granddaughter of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan – shared her idea of a perfect day and as expected, it involved some reading. The image shared is that of the book, The Village of Eight Graves by Seishi Yokomizo with a sprawling garden in the background.
In the caption, Navya Nanda wrote, “A reading nook, a Japanese murder mystery, and some sun-shine…” The post caught the attention of Navya's mother and fellow bibliophile, Shweta Bachchan. Responding to a comment from digital creator Rasna Bhasin as to whether the book was any good, Navya Nanda answered in the affirmative.
Sensing that her daughter was enjoying the book, Shweta Bachchan made another recommendation and said, “I have another book in the series by the same author upstairs. Inugami Curse.” To this, Navya Nanda said, “Read that one already.” Are you taking notes of all these books, because we are!
The mother-daughter duo often features on each other's Instagram timelines. Last year, the two appeared together on Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Sharing a picture from the shoot, Navya Nanda wrote, “Yes mom, you are always right!”
A few days ago, Shweta Bachchan shared a picture with her daughter and wrote, “Colour me red.” Navya Nanda replied with a heart emoji.
Here's another image of Shweta Bachchan with her mother, actress Jaya Bachchan and Navya Nanda. In the caption, she wrote, “You, Me and Dupree.”
Navya Naveli Nanda is the founder of Project Naveli and co-founder of Aara Health. Shweta Bachchan has authored the bestselling novel Paradise Towers.
