Sena, MNS oppose participation of Pak artistes in Big Boss-4

The Shiv Sena and MNSvehemently opposed the participation of Pakistani artistes inthe fourth season of popular reality show Bigg Boss, andthreatened to stall its run.

The much-awaited show kicked off withBollywood superstar and host Salman Khan unveiling all the 14contestants, including Veena Malik, Pakistani model andex-girlfriend of cricketer Mohammed Asif and Begum NawazishAli, a cross dresser who hosts a famous chat show on aPakistani channel.

Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said the party won't allowthe show to run with the Pakistani participants.

"If Pakistanis are participating in the show, then allowAjmal Kasab and Afzal Guru also (as contestants)... Sena willnot permit to run the show," he said.

Raut said Indian artistes are not given importance inPakistan and Indian channels are banned there. "Then why theshow wants Pakistanis on television," he asked.

Echoing the sentiment, MNS chief Raj Thackeray said,"Great singers like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle were neverallowed in Pakistan then why do we need Pakistani people onthe show."

He also criticised the Colors show for giving unnecessaryimportance to the two Pakistani contestants and said they haveno standing outside.

The other contestants on the show include Abbas Kazmi,convicted terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab's former lawyer, veteranfilmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul, Davinder Singh alias BuntyChor, a thief from Delhi on whose life the Hindi movie OyeLucky, Lucky Oye was reportedly based and former dacoit SeemaParihar, who is facing several cases of murder.
