Aamir Khan's
Secret Superstar is what's keeping the Internet and the theatres busy on Diwali. Aamir treated his colleagues and associates from the industry with special screenings of the movie ahead of release, which has resulted in great reviews on Twitter. "Zaira Wasim and Meher Vij are absolutely fantastic in
Secret Superstar... they are pitch perfect and will move you to tears ...SUPERB!" tweeted Karan Johar. Zaira play the titular protagonist, Meher Vij is cast as her mother while
Aamir's hatke role is that of a Bollywood music director. "Aamir plays a part that is completely different and is outstanding!! What tremendous comic timing!! One of his best," Karan added in a fresh tweet.
Meanwhile,
Secret Superstar has charmed Alia Bhatt: "Secret Superstar is such a beautiful film! A MUST MUST watch this Diwali!!! And watch it with your mother!! Can't get over how lovely it is!" Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has worked with the 52-year-old superstar in 2012's
Talaash, termed
Secret Superstar as the best film of the year. "Very inspiring," he wrote.
Rave reviews also arrived from filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker and Nitesh Tiwari, who directed Aamir in
Lagaan and
Dangal respectively. "
Secret Superstar will melt your heart. Beautiful story and terrific performances," tweeted Mr Tiwari while the
Lagaan director added: "Laugh-a-minute act by Aamir. All performances are electric."
Aamir has previously
admitted to being extremely nervous ahead of the release of his films, and this time was no different. This is what he tweeted yesterday:
In his review for NDTV, Saibal Chatterjee has assigned three and a half stars to the movie, saying: "Zaira is an absolute treat" and Aamir handles his character with "unabashed glee."
Secret Superstar is helmed by newcomer Advait Chandan, whose debut directed movie this is.
