New Delhi:
Filmmaker S S Rajamouli is basking in the success of
Baahubali: The Conclusion while his father, screenwriter K V Vijayendra Prasad revealed that his son's other hit film
Eega will soon be adapted into a television series, reports news agency PTI. Mr Prasad, who worked with Salman Khan in
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, said that the 51-year-old actor was earlier
interested to make his Telugu film debut with a sequel of
Eega, but that plan has been shelved.
Eega's sequel will now be a television series. "I had once thought of this but it is not happening because that will be coming up in a television series, it might be in Hindi," said K V Vijayendra Prasad.
Eega released in 2012 and featured Sudeep, Nani and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles. The film is a revenge thriller where Nani (played by Nani), who is murdered by Sudeep (played by Sudeep), returns as a fly to take revenge. The film was dubbed in Hindi as
Makkhi and was one of the biggest hits of 2012. Of course, the success is
nowhere near that of Rajamouli's Baahubali 2.
K V Vijayendra Prasad was also planning to collaborate with actor Sunny Deol for
Mera Bharat Mahaan. However, the
Baahubali storywriter told PTI: "That was also a plan but now it has got shelved because Sunny got busy with launching his son." Sunny Deol's elder son Karan will debut in Bollywood with upcoming film
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.
Meanwhile, Mr Prasad is writing the script of filmmaker Goldie Behl's upcoming television series
Aarambh.
