New Delhi:

Actor Irrfan Khan, who is currently in London undergoing treatment for neuroendocrine tumour, is "missed" by his close friend Vishal Bhardwaj, news agency IANS reported. At a recent media interaction in Mumbai, the filmmaker told IANS: "We all want Irrfan to be healthy again. I miss him as a friend but more than that, I miss him onscreen." In March, Irrfan Khan revealed that he is battling a "rare disease" on social media. The filmmaker had earlier revealed that he is in constant touch with the 51-year-old actor and assured fans that he is "recovering". "Irrfan is in touch with me. I keep talking to him. He is recovering. Our prayers and wishes are with him and we hope he recovers soon and will return soon," a PTI report stated.

Vishal Bhardwaj, who has worked with Irrfan Khan in Maqbool, 7 Khoon Maaf and Haider, had announced another film with him and Deepika Padukone before the actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour. When the filmmaker was asked about the status of the project, this is what he said: "I don't know the status of that film." Irrfan and Deepika had earlier shared the screen space in Shoojit Sircar's Piku, which released in 2015.

Since the revelation of Irrfan Khan's medical condition, the actor has made sporadic appearances on social media. He promoted his film Karwaan, which also featured Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar. The actor also promoted Blackmail on social media, which released after he revealed about his "rare disease".

Meanwhile, Vishal Bhardwaj is busy with the promotions of his next project, Pataakha. The film features Dangal actor Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover. The film is expected to release on September 28.
