Luv Sinha: Want to be a self-made man like my father Shatrughan

Luv feels sad people have a perception that star kids get good work easily.

Highlights

  • Newcomer and son of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha says he wants to make it on his own in Bollywood like his father.
  • "He (Shatrughan Sinha) is a self-made man and he wants us also to be like that. I do not expect him to call people to provide work for us. I want to try and do things in my own way as that is the challenge. We have learnt that money and being famous is not important in this profession... One should be known as a good actor," Luv said.
  • Luv feels the sad part of being a star kid is the false perception that they get good work easily.
  • "The negative of being a star kid part is lot of people dislike or hate you because of the perception that is created. They feel you (star kid) get everything easily on a platter but it is not the case for everyone. The positive part is to be part of this beautiful and magical world of films and entertain people," he added.
  • His sister Sonakshi is one of the most popular actresses among the new breed of actors in Bollywood and Luv is proud of her work.
  • "Since I am older so I am stricter with her but I love her a lot. I love the way her film career is shaping up. She is doing her 11th film. I loved her in Dabangg, Lootera. I am looking forward to Bullett Raja," he added.
  • Luv would soon be seen in a political thriller directed by Umesh Shukla of Oh My God fame. The movie is expected to go on floors in the first quarter of 2014.
  • "I met Umesh and liked the way he looks at things as a director, his thought process and etc. Our sensibilities matched. It was the script that attracted me to do this film. I am playing the parallel lead in the film," Luv said.
  • "I am not playing a lover boy or a weak person, if I talk about my role it will be like giving away the story. I will be going to Delhi for preparations of this role," he said.
  • "I loved Umesh's film Oh My God. The way he showed every character in the film. He presented Akshay Kumar in the modern day version of lord Krishna but kept the basics same," Luv said.
  • There is a buzz that Sonakshi might also feature in this film. However, Luv neither denied nor confirmed it. He chose to play safe and said, "We are still working out things and not talking about the cast." Earlier, Sonakshi did a special song Go Go Govinda alongside Prabhu Deva in Oh My God.
  • Apart from this, Luv has also signed on a movie with Balaji Motion Pictures. Details of the project are being worked out and it will be announced soon.
  • "I can't talk about it (Ekta Kapoor's film). There is another film that I have signed... It’s a two hero film," he added.
