Henry Cavill proud to be a British playing Superman

  • However, Cavill said that getting into shape for the role, previously played by Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh, is tough and he is having to eat far more than usual to gain the required muscle mass.
  • "I'm on 5,000 calories a day. I'm training two-and-a-half hours a day, pushing my body beyond its normal limits, putting on a lot of muscle to make myself look like Superman," he said.
  • The comic book star is not the only role Cavill has his eyes on, he said that he would love to star as James Bond should the opportunity arise.
  • "If they approached me on that I'd leap at the opportunity to do it. But that's of course well away for the time being," Cavill said.
