  • Congratulating Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar as he hit his 50th Test century, Bollywood today lauded the sheer genius of the legendary batsman for achieving the special milestone.
  • Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar said on micro-blogging site Twitter, "'Sachin iske aage hum aur Kya kahein' (What more do we say now) You have brought further glory to the country."
  • Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog, "This is an unbelievable landmark in the history of the game. There is no doubt that this record will perhaps remain for eternity. No other cricketer is any where near this phenomenal achievement and shall perhaps never be."
  • He further went on to say, "The media, the lovers of the game, friends well wishers and his own countrymen have run out of adjectives to describe this feat. This is sheer genius and nothing less. You are the pride of the nation and shall ever be so."
  • Echoing similar sentiments, Abhishek Bachchan, tweeted "Bow down people. Master blaster just rocked the House. We are privileged to have lived in the same time as you Sachin."
  • Actors Retiesh Deshmukh and Priety Zinta also congratulated Sachin.
  • "Tendulkar's 50th Test hundred amongst his most important for India saved us from humiliation. Thrilled.... ..admiration unbounded for Sachin," said former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor.
  • Team members and sports personalities were also elated on Sachin's feat on fourth day of the first Cricket Test against South Africa in Centurion yesterday.
  • Batsman Yuvraj Singh tweeted, "Greatest achievement by a batsman ever. Come on master blaster keep going."
