Ashim Ahluwalia's Miss Lovely only Indian film at Cannes 2012

  • Ashim Ahluwalia directed Miss Lovely is representing India at Cannes this year and will be screened as a part of the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.

  • Cannes 2012 is set to begin on May 16 with Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom as the opening film. Other films in the competition section include Holy Motors (Leos Carax), Cosmopolis (David Cronenberg) and Lee Daniels' Paperboy, said a press release.
  • Therese Desqueyroux by Claude Miller will be the closing film, screened out of competition.
  • English actor and director Tim Roth will be the president of the Un Certain Regard Jury, part of the Festival de Cannes Official Selection.
New Delhi: Ashim Ahluwalia directed MissLovely is representing India at Cannes this year and will bescreened as a part of the Un Certain Regard section of thefestival.

The film, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui of Kahaani fame,Niharika Singh and Anil George, is a Hindi feature film set inthe lower depths of Bombay's "C" grade film industry.
