Key Fights: Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

With 22.63 lakh voters, Ghaziabad is the second largest Lok Sabha constituency after Malkajgiri in Andhra Pradesh. The constituency has a fair sprinkling of Rajputs, (Elections: full coverage)

Brahmins, Baniyas and Jats, and, with the exception of 2004, has voted for the BJP since 1991.

Party president Rajnath Singh won it in 2009, but after he shifted to Lucknow, the BJP nominated former Army Chief, Gen (Retd) VK Singh from this seat, which borders the capital. (Elections schedule)

He is locked in a four-cornered contest with former journalist Shazia Ilmi of the AAP, filmstar-turned-politician Raj Babbar (Congress) and BSP's Mukul Upadhyaya.
