The Central Board of Secondary Education today started the facility for online correction in the CTET 2026 application form, on the official website, ctet.nic.in. The correction window is open from September 7 to 10, 2026.

According to the official exam notification, questions in Paper 2 of the CTET 2026 exam will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for Classes 6 to 8. However, candidates must note that difficulty standard as well as linkages, can be up to the Senior Secondary stage.

According to official information, the 'CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws' prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes 1 to 8 in the CBSE affiliated schools have been amended, making it mandatory for teachers to qualify or pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). 

The validity period of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for life time for all categories, according to the official exam notification. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

According to official information, the option to select an exam city was not available on the online application portal. The examination city to the applicants will be allotted by CBSE on a random basis, the exam body stated. Candidates must also note that the request for change of the allotted examination city will not be accepted by the CBSE.

Candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms during the registration window from May 11 to June 10 can also make corrections in their particulars.

Candidates will be able to download the e-admit card from the official CTET website. Applicants must appear for the CTET 2026 examination at the given centre as mentioned on their hall ticket. In case of any discrepancy noticed in the admit card regarding in terms of photograph and signature or any other information which is different from the confirmation page, candidates  must immediately contact the exam authority for necessary corrections.

The CBSE has advised candidates to read the instructions on the CTET admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination.

According to official information, there will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the CTET 2026 result. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained, the exam body noted.
 

According to the prescribed test structure by the CBSE, all questions in the CTET exam will be multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.

The CBSE will provide the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) marksheets to all candidates and eligibility certificates to successful candidates in digital format in candidates' DigiLocker account.

The records of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, including the OMR answer sheet is preserved only for two months from the date of the declaration of result.

The CTET 2026 website is currently not responding.

There will be two papers of CTET:

• Paper 1 will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes 1 to 5
• Paper 2 will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes 6 to 7

The exam body noted that if a person intends to be a teacher for both levels, then he/she will have to appear in both the papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2).

Candidates who registered for the CTET 2026 September session exam will be eligible to download the CTET 2026 admit card. The CBSE will release the admit card in online mode on its official website, ctet.nic.in. The admit card is an important document that the applicants need to carry with them on the day of the examination.

The examination body is expected to release the CTET city intimation slip around 10 days before the exam date. The exam city slip will inform candidates about the city assigned to them for the test. The city slip is released in advance so that the applicants can make the travel arrangements without any last-minute hassle.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday said that teachers have a crucial role in shaping society and building a developed and knowledge-based India, and stressed that education should focus on character-building rather than merely preparing students for careers.

In an urgent notice for students, the college has announced that students who have been affected and are in need of immediate shelter or accommodation can live at the Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi.

Delhi University's Sri Venkateswara College will remain closed on Monday, September 7, following the collapse of a building that happened in Satya Niketan, according to a notice issued by the institution. Situated very close to the affected location, the college administration also said that students would be temporarily accommodated in classrooms. The arrangement applies to both girls and boys, according to the notice.

The CBSE noted that all rough work must be done on the space provided in the test booklet. Candidates must not do any rough work on the OMR sheet, the exam body stated.

 The CTET 2026 city slip will be released on the official website: ctet.nic.in. 

The CTET exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. While Paper 1 is for candidates seeking to become teachers for Classes 1 to 5, Paper 2 is for those candidates who wish to become teachers for classes 6 to 8.  

The CBSE noted that the Supreme Court has "emphasised the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification." 

The board stated: "In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window by opening the online application portal."

The first side of the CTET OMR sheet contains the following columns which are to be filled in accurately by the candidates using a ball point pen (black/blue):

• Roll Number
• Name of the candidate
• Father’s Name
• Centre Number
• Name of the Examination Centre
• Subject offered for Paper 2 (Only in case of Paper 2)

Candidates must note that the use of pencil is strictly prohibited.

Earlier, the CTET registration portal was active from May 11 to June 10, 2026, and the exam was scheduled for September 6, 2026. 

However, the CBSE reopened the 22nd CTET application window on August 25, giving candidates another opportunity to apply. The registration window closed on September 1, as per the revised schedule. 

According to the prescribed test structure by the CBSE, all questions in the CTET exam will be multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.

The CBSE is yet to release the revised exam date notice on its official exam portal.

The exam body has advised candidates to use blue or black ball point pen to darken the circles. Pens with any other colors are prohibited, the CBSE noted. Do not use pencil or ink gel pen, it added.
 

The Central Board of Secondary Education will announce the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 revised examination dates soon on its official portal, ctet.nic.in.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday announced that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will now be held in offline mode in addition to online mode, a move aimed at providing relief to teachers. Yadav made the announcement while addressing the state-level Teacher Honour Ceremony organised at the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management in Bhopal on the occasion of Teachers' Day.

Applicants must note that the OMR answer sheet will be machine graded and will be processed by electronic means, that is, computers and scanners. Invalidation of OMR answer sheet due to incomplete or incorrect filling will be the sole responsibility of the candidate, the exam body stated. 

The CBSE noted that the Supreme Court has "emphasised the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification." 

According to the official marking scheme and test structure, each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking.

The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to release the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 revised examination dates soon on its official portal.
