Three youths arrested for 17 cases of burglaries

New Delhi: Three youths allegedly involved in at least 17 cases of burglaries were arrested here
with police saying they have recovered stolen articles, including three idols and 2kg silver, worth around Rs 20 lakh on Tuesday.

The youths were apprehended from the capital on Monday on a tip off and have been identified as Mohd Sultan (32), Naved Alam (32) and the receiver of stolen property Mazhar
(30), a senior police official said.

Sultan, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, was earlier declared a bad character by city police. Alam is a resident of Brahmpuri while Mazhar lives in Chandni Mahal.

According to the official, they have solved 17 cases of burglaries in the capital with the arrests.

Investigators have recovered 3.5 kg artificial jewellery, two kg silver, 450 gram gold, three idols, three each mobile phones and watches, two cameras and a motorcycle
allegedly from them.
