New Delhi:
Police claimed to have busted a prostitution racket in Rohini locality of outer Delhi with the arrest of seven people, including six women.
According to the police, the gang was operating from Rohini Sector-16 and was busted Sunday evening after police sent a decoy customer to strike a deal with a woman named Premlata, 39.
She ran the gang along with Dev Kumar, 35. Five girls were employed by the duo.
"We sent a decoy customer to their flat. Five girls were presented before him. They asked him Rs.2,500 for a night. When the policeman signalled, we raided the premises and arrested all of them," Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Chhaya Sharma said.
He said that Premlata also provided space at her house.
"She kept her share from the money paid by the customers. Two girls disclosed that they had come to Delhi from Patiala," Sharma added.
"Premlata was arrested on two earlier occasions for committing the same crime but she managed to get bail," a police officer said.
