Boy lynched in Delhi for allegedly stalking girl

New Delhi: A 14-year-old boy was beaten to death by a group of people allegedly for stalking a girl in south-west Delhi, police said on Sunday.

The incident took place in Bindapur on Saturday evening and the victim has been identified as Prashant, a Class VIII student of a government school. He resided in Prampura village in Uttam Nagar.

Police had initially received a call that the boy had met with an accident but when they reached there, they could not find any evidence to suggest so.

"His injury marks did not suggest that he had met with an accident. He was bleeding from the nose and was taken to a local hospital from where he was shifted to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital," a senior police official said.

He died early this morning.

Eye-witnesses told police that the boy was stalking a girl and was lynched by the locals for this reason.

The official said they were investigating the case and four youths were being questioned in this connection.
