Tiff over throwing garbage claims 2 lives

Greater Noida: Two people were shot dead and two others critically injured when an argument over throwing garbage in a drain turned ugly in Greater Noida, police said on Friday.

According to Superintendent of Police (Greater Noida) Surendra Verma, four men - Ashutosh, Jitendra, Deependra and Rajeev - lived together in a rented house in Deola village on Noida-Dadri Road. They had an argument with their neighbour Naubat Singh, a factory security guard, over throwing vegetable waste in a drain nearby.

Ashutosh and Jitendra objected to Naubat's daughters throwing the waste and cleaning utensils near the drain.

The argument went out of hand and Nabhat and his son Mahesh went back to his factory to pick up his double-barrel gun.

Around 9.30 a.m., the father-son duo returned and shot dead Ashutosh and Jitendra at point blank range. A bullet also hit Deependra. As Rajeev tried to intervene, Naubhat's second son Avdhesh stabbed him.

Deependra and Rajeev were critically injured and taken to Sharda Hospital in Greater Noida.
"The two are in serious condition. We have arrested Naubhat and Mahesh. His second son Avdhesh is absconding," Verma said.

The four men belonged to Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh and worked with Moser Baer.
