In West Bengal, a bus driver working for DAV School in Madhukunda in Purulia district has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape a four-year-old girl student.
The driver allegedly tried to molest the girl while dropping her home from school on Tuesday. The student is a resident of Saltora in neighbouring Bankura district.
The girl did not tell her parents anything yesterday, but complained of pain while using the toilet this morning.
When mother questioned her, the child narrated the entire incident to her.
When the bus driver came to pick up students at Saltora this morning, angry locals beat him up and ransacked the school bus. He was even garlanded with shoes.
The locals also complained to the police who arrested the driver. The student has been sent for medical examination. A case has been registered by the police on complaint of the student's family.
