Labourer dragged for two km for refusing to work

Raisen, Madhya Pradesh: In an inhuman act, an agriculture labourer who refused to cut the standing crop of soybean of a farmer was dragged for nearly two kilometres by the latter by tying him to a motorcycle and later beaten up till he fainted, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occured on Monday at village Tinsua in Raisen district.

The farmers identified as Meharban Singh Lodhi and Karan Singh Lodhi got infuriated when the labourer identified as Karan refused to cut the standing crop following which they tied him with a motorcycle and dragged for nearly two kilometres, police said.

Later, Karan's relatives reached the village and managed his release. Karan was later admitted to the Begumganj government hospital for treatment.

On a complaint filed by the victim, a case has been registered against four persons including Karan Singh, Meherban Singh, Dharamraj and Tikamchand, police said adding further investigations were on.
