Hyderabad:
A man and his second wife were taken into custody for allegedly attacking former's first wife at the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) premises in Nampally, police said on Friday.
According to police, Narsingh Rao and his second wife Laxmi were summoned by the SHRC after Rao's first wife Vani lodged a complaint alleging harassment by her husband.
Rao, who was already facing a case filed by Vani in the family court, reportedly indulged in a heated argument with her after seeing her at the SHRC premises.
Rao then allegedly tried to strangle Vani even as Laxmi also reportedly physically assaulted her resulting in minor injuries, police sources said.
Abid police who were present at the SHRC premises immediately intervened and took Rao and Laxmi into custody while Vani was taken to Hospital .
Following a complaint by Vani police registered a case under relevant sections against the couple and further investigation was on.
