Fake notes deposited in banks

Pune: Complaints have been filed against unidentified persons for depositing fake currency notes amounting to Rs 28,100 in two banks.

HDFC Bank Mayur Colony (Kothrud) branch manager Umesh Vainshanpayan lodged a complaint on Tuesday stating that an unknown person deposited fake notes worth Rs 25,500, 11 notes of Rs 1,000, 15 of Rs 500 and 70 of Rs 100 denomination in the bank.

An unidentified person deposited one currency note of Rs1,000, three notes of Rs500 and one note of Rs100 denomination at the Punjab National Bank's MG Road branch in Pune Cantonment.
