Chemicals dump in Bangalore: Firm executive held

Bangalore: A senior executive of a private firm, Karnataka Chemsyn Limited, which dumped seven barrels of Chemicals in a deserted place adjacent to a railway track recently, was arrested on Friday, police said.

"The executive, Jayaraj (32) has been arrested and a show cause notice has been issued to the company, located in Jigani, 30 km from here", police said. Read: Firm booked for chemical dump in Bangalore

Efforts are on to trace some other officials, who are absconding after having locked the company, police said.

The chemical was stated to be prophtyphozone, used for manufacturing tablets for headache.

Police conducted a search and found seven barrels of a chemical abandoned at an open space adjacent to a railway track at Srirampuram.
