A 28-year-old private company employee was cheated of thousands of rupees by a massage parlour after falling prey to their promises.
Pramesh S Jain, a resident of Vijayanagar in RPC Layout lost Rs 41,380 to a gang, which promised to provide him with a model to have fun.
In his complaint he said, "Following a newspaper advertisement, I called up Rashmi massage parlour and enquired about their services. I was first asked to deposit rs 7,165 for the enquiry and after this I was asked to deposit a sum of Rs 2,015 as membership fee into into the bank account of one Gaurva Guptha. I was promised details regarding the offer followed by a meeting with a model on December 6.
"Guptha sought Rs 4,500 as a 15% commission for introducing me to a model named Ritu Raheja. This was followed with a security deposit of Rs 5,000 which they said would be refunded by the model," Jain said.
To avoid any suspicion, the alleged model made a call to Jain confirming him of the plan. "She fixed the appointment at 4 pm on December 6, but before that asked me to deposit Rs 10,000 for having two hours' fun," he alleged.
The gang was not done yet, as more was to come. Stating the health aspects of both, a deposit of Rs 7,700 was demanded for medical check-up. They also coughed up Rs 5,000 from Jain in the name of selling a production kit.
On December 6, the model allegedly called Jain and told him that she was having fun with some young boys at a star hotel and that she would not be able to meet him on that day and postponed the plan to December 7.
When Jain waited in anticipation to meet the girl on Tuesday, his wait proved futile as none of them from the parlour turned up. Even his calls were not received by the gang members. It was only after he realised that he has been cheated he registered a case with the Koramangala police who are investigating.
