Yamaha has officially launched the XSR 155 in India, priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). With this, the Japanese two-wheeler giant adds a fresh nameplate to its Indian portfolio. The XSR 155 blends neo-retro styling with proven mechanicals borrowed from the MT-15 and R15, making it a unique offering in the segment. Here's everything you need to know about this new entrant.
Yamaha XSR 155: Engine
the Yamaha XSR 155 draws power from the familiar 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine shared with the R15 and MT-15. It delivers an output of 18.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox for smooth and responsive performance.
Yamaha XSR 155: Design
The Yamaha XSR 155 carries a neo-retro design and resembles the FZ-X to some extent. The Yamaha XSR 155 embraces its neo-retro identity with design elements like a round LED headlamp and tail lamp, along with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank that proudly spells out 'Yamaha' instead of showcasing the brand's logo. Enhancing its classic appeal is a flat, single-piece seat, distinctly different from the split, stepped units found on the MT-15 and R15.
