Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced its sales performance for the month of May 2026 with 33,128 units, reflecting a growth of 7% compared to 30,864 units sold in May 2025. This includes 30,574 units sold in the domestic market and 2,554 units exported.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported a strong performance in May 2026, recording total sales of 33,128 units, compared to 30,864 units sold in May 2025. This represents a 7 percent year-on-year growth, reflecting steady demand for Toyota's vehicles in both domestic and international markets.

In the domestic market, Toyota sold 30,574 units in May 2026, up from 29,280 units in May 2025. This translates to a 4 percent growth, indicating consistent customer demand for models such as the Toyota Innova Hycross, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Toyota Rumion and Toyota Glanza.

Toyota's export business witnessed even stronger growth during the month. The company exported 2,554 units in May 2026, compared to 1,584 units in May 2025. This marks a substantial 61 percent increase in exports, making it the fastest-growing segment in Toyota's May sales performance.

Looking at the January-May period, Toyota has maintained impressive momentum throughout 2026. Domestic sales during the first five months of the year stood at 1,57,225 units, compared to 1,35,078 units during the same period in 2025. This represents a healthy 16 percent growth in domestic volumes.

Exports also registered notable growth during the January-May period. Toyota shipped 13,097 units overseas between January and May 2026, compared to 10,943 units during the corresponding period last year. This resulted in a 20 percent increase in export volumes.

Combining domestic and export sales, Toyota sold a total of 1,70,322 units between January and May 2026, up from 1,46,021 units in the same period of 2025. Overall sales growth stood at 17 percent, highlighting the brand's strong position in the Indian automotive market.

Commenting on the sales performance, Mr. Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, "Our sales performance in May 2026 reflects the positive market acceptance of Toyota's offerings and overall ownership experience. The sustained demand across our product portfolio highlights a growing preference for quality, reliability and advanced technologies. This month marked a significant milestone as we crossed 3 lakh Strong Hybrid Electric vehicle (SHEV) sales in India, underscoring the growing acceptance of SHEV technology and cleaner mobility solutions. This achievement further strengthens our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility through a multi-pathway approach." 

Adding further, he said, "We will continue to focus on innovation that aligns with evolving customer needs while delivering long-term value and contributing meaningfully to India's transition towards carbon neutrality."
