Tata Motors' electric vehicle business has entered a new phase with a notable shift in its internal sales hierarchy. The Harrier.ev, which launched earlier this year, has become the brand's best-selling electric SUV, overtaking the long-dominant Nexon.ev for the first time.

According to recent data shared by ElecTree, the Harrier.ev recorded 2,458 units in a single month, outselling the Nexon.ev's 2,230 units. This aligns with a wider trend observed through late 2025, where the Harrier.ev has consistently been identified as the leading contributor to Tata's growing EV volumes.

Tata has been reporting month-on-month gains in electric sales since the middle of 2025. So much so that the brand dominated the mass-market EV segment in November with 42 per cent market share. Apart from Harrier.ev and Nexon.ev, the Punch.ev and Tiago.ev also contributeted to the sales.

The Harrier.ev occupies a more premium position in Tata's electric portfolio compared to the Nexon.ev. Priced between Rs 21.49 lakh and Rs 30.23 lakh (ex-showroom), the SUV is based on the brand's Acti.ev Gen 2 architecture. It is offered with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, the latter featuring a dual motor setup. Depending on the variant, Tata claims a certified driving range of over 600 km on a full charge.

Two battery options are on offer: 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger pack delivers a claimed 627 km of range. With a 120 kW DC fast charger, the Harrier.ev can add up to 250 km of range in just 15 minutes or charge from 20 to 80 per cent in about 25 minutes.

In the AWD version, the SUV combines a 155 hp front motor and a 234 hp rear motor, together producing 504 Nm of peak torque. Tata claims a 0-100 km/h time of 6.3 seconds for this setup. The car also offers multiple driving modes: Boost, Sport, City, and Eco in the AWD, and Eco, City, and Sport in the standard RWD variant.

The vehicle also supports vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging.

Safety equipment includes seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes with electronic parking brake, hill hold and descent control, rain-sensing wipers, and a full suite of Level 2 ADAS functions. Other highlights include a 540-degree surround-view camera, a digital rear-view mirror, and a digital key system.
