Nissan Tekton To Tata Sierra EV: Top 5 Upcoming Mid-Size SUVs In India

The mid-size SUV segment continues to dominate the Indian auto market, driven by buyers prioritising comfort, space, and practicality. This already competitive space is set to get even more exciting, with several new models lined up for launch in 2026. Automakers like Nissan, Mahindra, and Tata Motors are gearing up to introduce fresh offerings, each bringing something unique to the table. From electric advancements to feature-packed upgrades, here's a look at five upcoming mid-size SUVs expected to arrive in India soon.

Nissan Tekton

Nissan previously released a few glimpses of the Tekton SUV earlier this year, but the brand has not yet announced the SUV's launch date. Based on the RGMP architecture, same as the new Renault Duster, the Nissan Tekton is expected to be equipped with 1.0-litre turbo and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol options. Also, the Tekton is likely to come up with a hybrid powertrain as well. While the brand is yet to announce the official launch date, the Nissan Tekton is expected to be launched by mid-2026.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Positioned as the badged engineering partner of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is expected to be launched in the Indian market soon. The specs and details of the electric SUV have already been disclosed and are powered by 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, claiming to deliver a range of up to 543 km on a single charge.

Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

Mahindra is planning to roll out a mid-cycle update of the popular Mahindra Scorpio N in the Indian market. The test mule of the Scorpio N Facelift has been spied on several occasions, hinting at the redesigned front profile along with new features on the inside, including a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the older 8-inch unit, and a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display.

Skoda Kylaq Sportline

Skoda Auto India has previously promised to launch the Skoda Kylaq Sportline version in the Indian market by 2026 end. The Kylaq Sportline is expected to be a sportier and sharper version of the standard Kylaq, appealing to buyers who want a more dynamic design and performance-oriented appeal. 

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors launched the Sierra earlier this year, reintroducing the decade-old nameplate. Now, the brand has been planning to launch the Tata Sierra EV, likely by mid-2026. It is expected to slot below the Harrier EV in Tata's growing electric SUV range. While the SUV is likely to retain the retro-modern proportions and overall silhouette of the ICE Sierra, the EV version should stand apart with a closed grille, split headlamp setup, and a full-width LED light bar.
