Motorcycle enthusiasts often use their old motorcycles to give shape to their imaginations. In one such example, a motorcycle enthusiast transformed his Yamaha R15 V2 into an adventure tourer. The video of the motorcycle in its final avatar was shared on social media by the owner alongside the relatively new TVS Apache RTX 300, which is an adventure tourer by birth.

In the viral video, the Yamaha R15 V2 owner is bidding farewell to his old companion. In the short clip, he shows the glimpses of his old modified motorcycle. Later on, he reveals that now he owns a new TVS Apache RTX 300 while riding the old R15 out of the frame.

Talking of the changes, the owner has kept the face of the motorcycle intact. It's the familiar Yamaha style with the twin-pod headlamps. However, he seems to have made changes to the visor, which again screams of being an adventure tourer with a slightly raised height. Apart from that, there seem to be a few changes in the fairing of the motorcycle compared to the stock parts. These changes help in adapting to its new form.

Changes in appearance and functionality also include new puffier seats, which eventually contribute to changing the rider's stance. Additionally, the handlebars are slightly raised, which significantly changes the rider's triangle. The rider sits straight up on the bike, which is very different compared to the committed stance that the R15 offers. Aesthetic upgrades also include a change in paint. It gets white, blue, and red colours.

The bike retains its frame, but mechanically it's a bit different. The motorcycle probably has the same 149 cc liquid-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine offered on the stock bike. This unit puts out 17 hp of power and 15 Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with a six-speed manual transmission. This is where the similarities with the stock machine end.

The owner of the bike seems to have modified the front and rear suspension to increase its travel and the overall height of the motorcycle. The result is increased ground clearance and seat height, which contribute to giving the motorcycle an adventure tourer persona.

The bike seems to be equipped with new bronze alloy wheels wrapped in tires meant for use on and off-road. Protecting the engine is a metallic bashplate, which seems to have been customised to the motorcycle's shape. Even the side stand has been replaced to go with the machine. Meanwhile, stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends, which have been retained from the stock machine.
