JSW Motor India revealed its new flagship SUV, the MG Majestor, marking the brand's most ambitious step into the premium D+ segment. Positioned as the successor to the Gloster, the Majestor was first showcased at Auto Expo 2025, but this official launch provides a complete look at its bold proportions and refined styling.
Pricing details remain undisclosed for now, with announcements scheduled for April 2026, while customer deliveries are expected to begin in May 2026. The MG Majestor is set to compete directly against the popular Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market, bringing a fresh contender into the premium SUV space. Here's how it compares.

Under the hood, the Majestor runs on a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 216 hp. This setup is similar to the Gloster's powertrain that comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Fortuner gets two powertrain options, including the 2.7-liter petrol engine and a 2.8-liter diesel engine, paired to a 2WD and a 4WD system (options). It delivers a peak power and torque output of 201 hp and 500 Nm, respectively. It also gets a 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine now paired with a 48-Volt system.

Step inside and the Majestor's cabin focuses on comfort and technology. It offers ventilated seats with multiple massage modes, a JBL 12-speaker audio setup, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. The driver's seat is 12-way adjustable, while a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto sits alongside a fully digital instrument cluster. Safety is comprehensive, with ADAS Level 2, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, six airbags, hill-descent control, and a 360-degree HD camera. For off-road capability, the SUV features three differential locks and selectable drive modes (2H, 4H, 4L).

The Toyota Fortuner comes equipped with a wide range of convenience, technology, and safety features. It offers cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, dual-zone automatic climate control, and multiple driving modes. Comfort is enhanced with power-adjustable front seats, centre armrests, reclining second and third-row seats, and a powered tailgate. Technology highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 11-speaker JBL audio setup. Safety is comprehensive, featuring seven airbags, ESC, traction control, ISOFIX mounts, hill assist, differential lock, downhill assist, and parking sensors.
