Mahindra's new pickup truck will be called Lifestyler for the global market. For the Indian market, it will be called Scorpio Lifestyler. With this, the manufacturer has put an end to the rumours of the Scorpio X name for the pickup truck.

Mahindra has revealed the dashboard of the pickup truck. It gets a fresh design with a touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dash, along with physical buttons. Furthermore, the brand has given the pickup a new steering wheel, differentiating it from the other SUVs.

Mahindra has given us the first glimpse at the design of the upcoming pickup truck by revealing the design sketches of the model. It gets an upright stance that looks even more rugged compared to the Scorpio-N. It seems to have a face like an American pickup truck with a massive grille and complemented by DRLs on either side. Especially in a country like Australia, where these kinds of vehicles have a significant presence.

Mahindra is likely to offer the 2.2-litre mHawk Diesel engine with the Scorpio-N based pickup truck. Expect it to have the options of diesel and an automatic gearbox. If the brand decides on having a petrol-powered variant, it will likely carry forward the 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi engine.

Currently, the buyers in the country are presented with options like the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu V-Cross. However, the pricing of the models sets them quite far apart. With the Scorpio-N based pickup truck, Mahindra is expected to enter the territory of one of these models. Most likely, the brand will target the V-Cross' market.

While the Scorpio name carries a rich history, the branch of Scorpio-N is relatively new. However, since its launch, the name has proved itself in the market by gaining popularity among consumers. Even though the SUV itself is devoid of any major changes, it will supply the pickup truck with its basics like the ladder-frame chassis, 4x4 capability, and a heart.

The formula of launching a pickup truck based on an SUV is not new to Mahindra. Earlier, the brand had the Scorpio Getaway on sale in India, which borrowed its elements from the Scorpio SUV of the time. Hence, the name. However, the vehicle with four-wheel drive saw the metaphorical sunset in 2020.

On the inside, the Mahindra is likely to offer a vertically oriented screen and a digital instrument cluster. Chances are, the design of the steering wheel will be slightly different compared to the SUV. Additionally, the automaker is likely to offer buttons for the basic controls, maintaining a distance from touch-based controls.

Elaborating on the design based on the teaser, the pickup truck is expected to have an upright stance with a butch-looking face and muscular bonnet. Expect large wheel arches with plastic cladding. At the rear, the tailgate will have prominent Mahindra lettering along with vertically oriented tail lamps.
