KTM India has introduced a new 350 cc version of the 390 Duke to leverage the lower 18 per cent GST slab for engines under 350 cc, positioning it alongside the existing 399 cc model now badged as 390 Duke R. This move makes the standard variant more accessible while retaining core performance traits.

KTM 390 Duke R vs 390 Duke: Differences

Engine: The standard 390 Duke features a 349.32cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a shorter stroke, delivering 40.9 bhp at 8,600 rpm and 33.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm.  In contrast, the 390 Duke R's 399cc unit produces 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm, offering better acceleration and top speed in real-world conditions. Both share a six-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, and quickshifter for smooth shifts.

Appearance: Styling remains aggressive across variants, but colours differ: the standard Duke sports understated shades with a black frame and wheels, while the R gets vibrant options, an orange frame, and orange wheels on select schemes. Graphics highlight '390' on the base and 'Duke' on the R.

Price: Priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom), the 350cc 390 Duke saves Rs 62,000 over the 390 Duke R at Rs 3.38 lakh, aiding budget-conscious buyers without compromising essentials. Both are available now through KTM dealerships in India.

KTM 390 Duke R vs 390 Duke: Similarities

Kerb weight stands at 168.3 kg for both bikes, with identical chassis, WP Apex suspension, and braking setup, including a 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc. The standard model has a lower 800mm seat height, 20mm less than the R, and a 14.5-litre fuel tank, 0.5 litres smaller than its counterpart.
