Volkswagen has recently launched the Golf GTI in India and is now gearing up for the facelifted avatar of the Taigun for the national market. First launched in 2021, the Volkswagen Taigun is slated to rival the Hyundai Creta. The test mule of the Taigun has been spotted testing with camouflage, but it reveals few design details.

Volkswagen Taigun: Powertrain Expected

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is likely to carry forward the powertrain options from the current model. It is expected to get a 1.0-liter TSI engine, mated with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission option. It also gets a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, generating 147 hp and 250 Nm.

Volkswagen Taigun: Exterior Expected

The Creta rival is likely to get a redesigned grille and LED setup up front. The spy shots also reveal that the Volkswagen Taigun facelift follows the brand's new design approach, drawing inspiration from the Tiguan R Line and others. On the rear, the Taigu facelift is expected to get tweaked taillamps and more.

While the front and rear may get other changes, the side profile of the Taigun facelift appears to be the same as the current model. It gets body colored conventional door handles, roof rails, a blacked-out B-pillar, and more.

Volkswagen Taigun: Features Expected

Talking about the features, the Volkswagen Taigun is liley to draw inspiration from the Tiguan R line, carrying a similar dash, interior design, and screens. However, the brand is likely to update the Taigun facelift with ADAS features, which are not available in the current iteration, placing it below its rivals like Hyundai Creta, MG AStor, Kia Sonet, and more.
