CID's Daya Buys Land Rover Defender Luxury SUV; Check Pic

Actor Dayanand Chandrashekhar Shetty, popularly known for his role as 'Daya' in the television series CID, has taken delivery of a Land Rover Defender 110. The update was shared by the actor via social media with visuals of his new prized possession. With this purchase, the actor has joined the club of celebrities who own the SUV.  

It is to be noted that the Defender is a popular choice among Bollywood celebrities. Several actors, including Kareena Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Jimmy Shergill, Ayush Sharma, Prakash Raj, Sonam Bajwa, and Amitabh Bachchan, own the premium off-roader. Its mix of rugged capability, luxury features, and strong road presence makes it a preferred pick in the segment.

Based on the visuals shared on social media, Dayanand Shetty's SUV is finished in Borasco Grey, one of the more understated colour options offered by the brand. Shetty has opted for the 110 variant of the Defender and upgraded the alloy wheels to 20-inch diamond-cut units with a gloss dark grey contrast finish.

In India, the Land Rover Defender is available in multiple powertrain options. The range starts with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 296 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque. There is also a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six version generating 296 hp and 650 Nm. For buyers seeking more performance, the Defender is offered with a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers 626 hp and 750 Nm.

The top-spec variant comes with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine capable of producing 518 hp and 625 Nm. All versions come paired with an automatic transmission that powers all four wheels through Land Rover's advanced all-wheel-drive system.

Inside, the Defender features a functional yet premium cabin. It comes equipped with an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Land Rover's Pivi Pro connected car interface. Other highlights include a Meridian premium sound system, a ClearSight rear-view mirror that uses a camera feed for improved visibility, and a wide suite of driver assistance functions.
