Hyundai Motor India has launched the new Verna, priced from Rs 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). With more than 25 enhancements across design, technology, safety, and comfort, the sedan aims to reinforce its standing in the highly competitive mid-size segment. Hyundai positions the new Verna as a premium yet youthful offering, and it continues to rival the likes of the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, and more.
2026 Hyundai Verna: Design Updates
The 2026 Hyundai Verna gets a black chrome radiator grille, dual LED projector headlamps, redesigned bumpers, and R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels give it a modern edge. Measuring 4,565 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and riding on a 2,670 mm wheelbase, the Verna remains one of the widest sedans in its class, ensuring generous cabin space and improved comfort for passengers.

Inside, Hyundai has focused on elevating luxury and convenience. The cabin now features a D-cut steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, and electrically adjustable seats-8-way for the driver with memory function and 4-way for the front passenger. Segment-first additions include a rear window sunshade, a passenger seat walk-in device, and a smart trunk with 528 litres of storage. Dual 10.25-inch integrated screens serve as infotainment and digital cluster, supported by Hyundai Bluelink with 70+ connected features and 350+ voice commands. Ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and wireless charging further enhance the premium feel.

The new Hyundai Verna claims to lead the segment with its expansive dual-screen setup. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric sunroof, and a Bose premium 8-speaker system add to the tech appeal. Hyundai has also introduced switchable interfaces for infotainment and climate control, along with advanced driver aids like a surround view monitor and blind spot view monitor.

Safety has been significantly bolstered with Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS offering 20 features, seven airbags including a centre airbag, and segment-first additions like an integrated dashcam. With over 75 advanced safety features and 35 standard technologies.

2026 Hyundai Verna: Powertrain
Under the hood, buyers can choose between two petrol engines. The 1.5-litre MPi unit is paired with either a 6-speed manual or IVT automatic, while the 1.5-litre Turbo GDi delivers 160 hp and 253 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The turbo variant stands out as one of the most powerful in the segment.
