Ambika Singh Kahma
Ambika Singh Kahma has been with NDTV for over 12 years, where she has established herself as one of the leading voices in special projects and social impact journalism. As Deputy Editor and Senior Anchor, she drives editorial vision and storytelling across campaigns and shows that address India’s most pressing health and social issues. She is also the editorial lead of NDTV’s health show NDTV Lifeline and the host of the podcast Unplan Life, both of which reflect her commitment to conversations that matter.
She has been recognized with the prestigious Red Ink Award for her documentary on the Sunderbans, underscoring her excellence in impactful storytelling. Ambika was also honored with the ASSOCHAM Diversity & Inclusion Award for her pioneering work in inclusive campaigns.
Ambika has spearheaded some of India’s longest‑running and most influential public health campaigns, most notably Banega Swasth India, Her leadership extends to inclusion campaigns such as Samarth and Bachpan Manao, alongside a wide portfolio of initiatives including Save Our Tigers, Defeating Diabetes, Road to Safety, Every Life Counts, More to Give, Roshan Dilli, and Find Your Equal.
Her work spans environmental issues (sanitation, waste management, air pollution, water) and health journalism (nutrition, anemia, maternal health, neonatal care, diabetes). She has anchored panel discussions, and also conceptualizing, scripting, and reporting feature documentaries.
Beyond campaigns, Ambika has hosted prestigious events including the NDTV Food Awards and has moderated national conclaves and summits on health, environment, and inclusion, bringing together thought leaders and policymakers for meaningful dialogue.
Her career began 20 years ago in sports journalism, and in 2026 she made a comeback in the field through active involvement in the NDTV Pro‑Am Multicity Golf Tournament, reaffirming her versatility across genres. She has also explored radio jockeying, but her passion for social campaigns and environmental advocacy has defined her professional journey.
Ambika continues to be a driving force in NDTV’s storytelling, combining editorial leadership with on‑ground impact, and remains deeply committed to amplifying voices and issues that shape India’s future.
