Hooda is back in Haryana

Chandigarh: In Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been rewarded with a second term as the chief minister. Even though the Congress tally in the state assembly came down to 40 from 67 in the last elections.

The party finally chose to go with him since the alternatives were too lightweight. Right now, while the government has majority in Haryana, NDTV has learnt that efforts are on to get Kuldeep Bishnoi on board too.

The performances of the chief minister will be under watch for now.

Speaking to NDTV after being chosen the chief minister, Hooda said he was grateful to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and that he would continue with the development works in the state.

"I am grateful to the Congress president because the legislative party had left the decision to her. I would like to repose the trust she has shown in me," said Hooda.

"I would like to continue with the development works started last time," he added.
