NDTV statement on Madhu Kishwar's "press conference" on Wednesday:In the "press conference" by Ms. Madhu Kishwar on what she called the "Chidambaram-NDTV hawala scam" - Ms Kishwar didn't even try to provide any shred of evidence whatsoever for this totally non-existent and imaginary "scam".
At the "press conference", it soon became clear that she had only used the NDTV name to attract people so that they would listen to her on a foreign funding FCRA inquiry involving her organisation Manushi. She went on to state that she was launching "civil disobedience" against unjust government orders by not cooperating with the FCRA inquiry.
Contrary to her claims at the "press conference", NDTV has already initiated legal action, including filing a suit, against Madhu Kishwar for her reckless, defamatory, false and bizarre charges. We look forward to meeting her in court.
NDTV is tired of being dragged into baseless controversies by publicity seekers and will take action wherever, against whoever and whenever necessary.
