Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu:
In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old boy on Tuesday allegedly stabbed his Mathematics teacher after he reprimanded him for coming late to class.
Police said the ninth standard student of a private school in Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu pulled out a knife and stabbed the teacher, Pandiarajan, who questioned him for coming late.
Students rushed Pandiarajan, who collapsed, to the government hospital in Virudhunagar where his condition was stated to be stable, police said.
Some students chased the boy who managed to escape, police said.
A case has been registered, police said, adding, that a search is on for the boy.
