In a suspected case of honour killing, two teenaged lovers were found dead and their bodies recovered from the house of girl's uncle in a village in Haryana's Bhiwani district on Sunday.

Pinku (19) of Manheru village and Monica (18) of Neemdi Wala were found hanging, Bhiwani SP Ashwin said.

"We suspect both were done to death. The bodies were recovered from the house of the girl's uncle at Neemdi Wala," he added.

Ashwin said a case under Section 302 (Murder) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against six members of the girl's family which includes her parents, uncle and aunt and two brothers.

The case was registered on the complaint of Pinku's maternal uncle.

Ashwin said the boy belonged to 'Dalal' gotra (sub caste) while the girl was from 'Boora'.

Though the couple belonged to separate gotras, the boy's maternal uncle hailed from the girl's village and this factor, according to the village tradition, makes the relation between them as that of brother-sister.

At the moment, we cannot say anything for sure, but we are investigating all angles involved," Ashwin said.

The teenagers were found hanging from a ceiling fan.

The girl was a Class XI student and was staying with her uncle in the village while the boy had come to his maternal uncle's house.

Bhiwani DSP Dheeraj Setia said an investigation was on and that the police is awaiting their post-mortem report.
