Kapil Dev Has Made More Friends In Golf Than Cricket
"I played cricket for India for 15 years. I played golf also. I have made more friends in golf than cricket because every week I play with different people. You meet them. You go to England, Mumbai or Kolkata and meet different people. In cricket, they don't let anybody come close to you," said Kapil Dev.

Cost Of Insurance Has Come Down, Says Axis Max Life Insurance MD
"The cost of insurance has come down. The cost of a simple term is around 700-800 pm and the cover is from Rs 1 crore. There is a lot of work that the government has done around it. The campaigns around awareness and focus on rural areas are making it a pull product. Technology is not only making things faster but also easier. The finance industry has been the biggest beneficiary of Aadhaar. AI is leading towards a reduction in the price. "EV Will Be Natural Choice In Terms Of Cost Soon": BillionE Mobility CEO Sanjeev Kulkarni
"So capital is very important. The amount of money that is flowing behind electric is phenomenal. The credit goes to the government of India - because of the consistency of policy. In the journey for electric, capital is not the only concern. The biggest phobia about transportation is when I get there, will there be enough charging. There is a lot happening before the vehicle comes on the ground, that's where Vertelo comes into the picture," Vertelo CEO Sandeep Gambhir said.
BillionE Mobility CEO Sanjeev Kulkarni said: "In the next few years, EV will be the natural choice in terms of cost."
Subsidies Fall Flat If Product Not Good, Says Exicom CEO Anshuman Divyanshu
On indigisation in the electric mobility ecosystem, Exicom CEO Anshuman Divyanshu said: "Today, if you look at fossil fuels, they are getting imported. We don't want to do that for electric mobility, as we don't want to be dependent on someone else. At the end of the day, any subsidy falls flat if the product is not good. The charging process has to be seamless."
"Way To Clean Up India's Air Is...": What Top Leaders Said On Electrifying Mobility in India
BillionE Mobility CEO Sanjeev Kulkarni said: "As a car user, it's more visible in the city. But we forget that our day starts with milk, which is delivered in a truck. Everything depends on transportation. Whenever someone has to move from point A to point B, this is the sweet spot where BillionE comes in."
Ador Digatron CEO Ravin Mirchandani said: "Why are we going for clean mobility - because we want to have better air in the city. How do you do that? The way to clean up India's air is to focus on the two and three wheelers and then on the trucks and buses."

Debit, Credit Cards May Not Be Available In Physical Form In Future, Says Gautam Aggarwal
Aggarwal said: "The idea of what a (debit or credit) card would look like in future is anybody's guess. My idea is that it wouldn't exist in the form of plastic. You can tokenise and digitise your card in your phone, watch, etc. I don't think it will exist in physical plastic form in future. That time is not far away when paying will be a subconscious thing, not a conscious thing. It will be like the air you breathe."
He added: "We have to create trust in the ecosystem. It's about convenience, safety and trust without friction. Today, whatever we do requires OTP. We are working to remove OTP and replace it with biometrics, and that would remove the friction aspect. We are enabling agentic commerce in the online world. The agents would work on your behalf to tell you what to buy, from where to buy and what's the best deal."
Has Digital Payment Increased Spending? What Mastercard's Gautam Aggarwal Said
"We want people to be more aware of what they are spending and how they are spending. Today, digital payment allows you to be a lot smarter. There is this argument that it has made buying things easier, so one is spending more, but since one can track more, it has made one smarter," Gautam Aggarwal said.
Gautam Aggarwal To Speak On 'Swiping the Future: The Digital Edge'
Gautam Aggarwal, President, South Asia at Mastercard, is speaking next on "Swiping the Future: The Digital Edge". "India has undoubtedly the biggest digital payment ecosystem in the world today," he said.
"We have innovators who have come together for this. The most progressive regulator is in the country. The world's only country that is fully tokenised..," he added.

"Policymakers, Political Classes Have Short Political Horizon": Tarun Khanna
"Even the money the government is allocating to R&D is not getting properly utilised. We are having a problem converting science to commercial application. The challenge for us is that our policymakers and political classes have a very short political horizon," Tarun Khanna said.
"When I visited BYD years ago, someone there said 20 years from now, we will make an electric car. That's the time horizon. China's fastest rail runs at 350 km/hr. It all started with an academic paper. That created the impetus for a high-speed track. We need that planning horizon and scientific infra to do this," he added.
"India Lacking Societal Consensus On Importance Of Science": Tarun Khanna
"What we are lacking in India is societal consensus behind the importance of science. As I spent a lot of time in China, I co-built a company in Beijing, and sold it a year later. The way China has gone leapfrogging it's quite different from how India is going about it. If China is completely eclipsing the US, we can definitely see what's there that's worth emulating," Tarun Khanna said.

"Indian-American used to be a comment nomenclature. But now Asian-European (or Indian-European) is becoming common. The Philippines used to supply nurses to the world. But they will soon run out of these skilled workers. But I know a country that has 10 times the population of the Philippines," Khanna said.
"We live in a world where your identity is defined by the state that bestows it upon you. You cannot cross a border without carrying a passport issued by a state. Today, I cannot think of any other nation that is a greater incentive to transcend this system where we are so dependent on interstate relations and protocols and agreements and the vast bureaucracy than India. Indians being the largest diaspora in the world, reaching every corner of the planet, being one of the youngest nations in the world. In any given year, India exports in a way more people than any country does," he added.

Is EV Ecosystem A Hype In India? What ChargeZone Founder Said
Asked if the EV ecosystem in India here to stay or is it a hype, Hariyani said: "If you are driving your Lamborgini or Ferrari to office everyday, every car will look like a toy car. 80% of our energy needs are still imported- be it coal, crude oil. When we talk about electric mobility- there are two components - vehicle and the fuel. When we look at the fuel part, electricity is produced from various sources in India. We are a nation where we are blessed by solar gods and wind gods; we shouldn't be holding ourselves back from creating more sources/alternatives of electricity for this (EV) market."
Is It Feasible To Buy Electric Car Without Any Concerns? What Kartikey Hariyani Said
Asked whether it is feasible to buy an electric vehicle and not worry about where is the closest charging station, Kartikey Hariyani said: "Yes it is, the credit goes to the ecosystem - peers, competitors and stakeholders- OEMs who have started investing in EV charging stations."
"If by 2030, which also the government has envisioned - if there are 30% of vehicles on roads are electric, we'll be saving enough dollars - $80-90 billion of forex reserve - which will fund education and healthcare budget of this country," he added.

"Pak's A Military Dictatorship As Opposed To India": Ex-Australian PM At NDTV World Summit
Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Friday called Pakistan a "military dictatorship" as opposed to India - a "liberal democracy". Speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2025, Abbott said one of the biggest mistakes the US made during the Cold War was consistently "tilting towards Pakistan".
"One of the big mistakes that America made during the Cold War period was consistently tilting towards Pakistan - a military dictatorship, as opposed to India - a liberal democracy. For the last 20 years, Americans, very sensibly, have been trying to rectify that. I think this is a serious setback, but given the fundamental community of interests and values that India does have with the democracies, I think it landed a temporary setback," Abbott said.
"America's fundamental interests lie in a strong friendship with India compared to Pakistan. India's fundamental interests lie in a strong partnership with fellow democracies, much less than with dictatorships," he added.

Speaking at the NDTV World Summit on Friday, Sunak also spoke about the India-UK trade deal and how China doesn't play by the same rules as others.
"The old global order, or globalisation, that I grew up with, which came into place after the fall of the Berlin Wall, that is gone, and I don't think it is coming back. But a couple of themes are clear: There will be more multipolarity in the world - and India is an example of that - and I think the second is countries everywhere are focused much more on domestic capabilities," he said.

Urban Maoists Dominated During Congress Rule, Says PM Modi
Speaking on Maoism, PM Modi said: "Naxalwaad comes from Maoist terror. During the Congress rule, there was dominance of the ecosystem of urban Maoists. Several victims of Maoist terror came to Delhi a few days ago. Many of them had lost their limbs to Maoism. They were in Delhi for seven days. But the contractors of Maoism didn't let their plea reach the world. In the last 50-55 years, thousands were killed by Maoist terror. These Maoists will not get schools or hospitals built. They will not let doctors enter hospitals. They would bomb institutions."
He added: "Maoist terror was an injustice to the youth of people and I couldn't have let this happen to them. I used to feel agitated. This is the first time I am expressing my pain to the world. Which is why, after 2014, we made efforts to bring these wayward youth to the mainstream. Today, the country is seeing the results of these efforts."

Modi Government Focuses On Making People's Lives Easier, Says PM At NDTV World Summit
"Listen to all their (Congress') speeches from the Red Fort, all of them were about the poor. But they couldn't reduce poverty. Today, there is a dedicated government for the poor, we prioritise those marginalised. Congress did not leave any stone unturned in destroying BSNL. Today, BSNL is scaling new heights... A sensitive government and a government dedicated towards democracy and Constitution makes such decisions and policies. Our stress is on making people's lives easier and increasing their savings," PM Modi said.
Congress Tried To Shut Fuel Pumps To Avoid Government Subsidies, Says PM Modi
Continuing his attack on the Congress, PM Modi said: "In the petrol and gas sector, before 2014, so that they don't have to give subsidies, Congress was planning to close petrol pumps from 8 pm to 8 am. Now the stations are open 24x7. In 2013, the Congress was brainstorming if they should give six cylinders or nine cylinders per year. We gave free gas connections to 10 crore people. In that era of governmentalisation, they would put locks on PSUs if they were not performing well. But, we changed that thought, and all our PSUs are making new records of profits."
"Created Mountain Of NPAs": PM Modi Hits Out At Congress
Hitting out at the previous Congress-led Centre, PM Modi said: "Unlike the Congress, we worked towards democratising policies; this is the driving force behind 'Unstoppable Bharat'. The Congress distanced people from banks. Poor people were scared to go to the banks. When we took over, half of the population didn't even have bank accounts."
He added: "Banks were nationalised during Indira Gandhi's tenure with an argument that banking has to reach the poor. But in reality, banks moved away from the poor. In 2014, when we came to power, half of India's population did not have a bank account. We democratised the banking system, and opened more than 50 crore Jan Dhan accounts in mission mode. We took the country out of this governmentalisation. We brought reforms into the banking sector. Digital transactions have made India one of the most inclusive countries in terms of finance. Congress governments created mountain of NPAs (non-performing assets)."
PM Modi At NDTV World Summit: India Performed Better Than Every Estimate

"S&P upgraded India's credit rating after 17 years. Today, big investments are being made in the green energy and semi-conductor sectors. IMF did an upward revision of India's growth. Google made a big investment announcement the other day. (UK PM Keir) Starmer came to India with his biggest delegation. It showed the world sees opportunity in India. The world sees India as a responsible partner," he added.

NDTV World Summit Live Updates: India Took On Every Challenge After 2014, Says PM Modi
"I will try to contextualise it in terms of the situation 11 years ago. Before 2014, the discussions would be on how India would brace for global headwinds, till when India will be in policy paralysis, when scams will stop, and there were questions about women's security. There were terrorist sleeper cells and 'mehengai dayan khaye jaat hai' was popular. Then everyone thought India would not be able to come out of this. But India took on every challenge. But we need to ensure safeguards from security risks," he added.

"I did not read them. Both (Kohli and Rohit) were very aware of the situation of a new WTC cycle, and perhaps they felt that they wouldn't have gone for another two years. England was a series where we would've loved some experience. But they had made their decision. When they've made a particular decision, you have to respect that."
NDTV World Summit Live Updates: Agarkar On Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma's Future
Agarkar: "They are part of the squad at the moment for Australia. They've been incredible players for a long period of time. 2027 (World Cup) is a long way away, but you're not going to put them on trial because they have ODI averages of over 50 or close to 50."
"Two years from now, it is difficult to say what the situation will be. Who knows, there can be younger players who will take the spot. Both are great players, and they will not be put to the test in every match. Once they start playing, we will assess the situation. It is about winning trophies, not just runs. It is not like if they score three hundreds in the Australia series, they will play the World Cup in 2027. We have to take the situation into consideration."
